The funeral of the twin sisters Sara and Aurora Esposito, who tragically died on November 18 due to an explosion in a house used as an illegal fireworks factory in Ercolano, was held in the collegiate church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Marigliano.
The accident also caused the death of Samuel Tafciu, 18, originally from Albania, whose funeral took place in Aversa, in the Caserta area, two days ago. The community of Marigliano observed the city mourning proclaimed by the mayor Giuseppe Jossa as a sign of solidarity with the families affected.
Even the mayor of Herculaneum, Ciro Buonajuto, attended the funeral ceremony. The investigation into the explosion is being conducted by the Naples Prosecutor's Office, which has ordered the 38-year-old owner of the apartment to be held in prison. He has been charged with the crimes of triple voluntary homicide with eventual intent and illegal possession of explosive material.
