Camorra in the transport services for the sick and funeral services: 11 arrests in the province of Salerno.
Since the early hours of this morning, the Salerno Flying Squad and the Anti-Crime Division of the Salerno Police Headquarters, with the coordination of the Central Operations Service and the Central Anti-Crime Service, on behalf of the District Attorney's Office of Salerno, are conducting a large-scale operation to combat criminal infiltration in the sector of patient transport and funeral services; in particular, the Salerno Flying Squad is executing a precautionary custody order issued by the GIP of the Court of Salerno against an entrepreneur from Capaccio Paestum and 10 other individuals, responsible, in various capacities, for fictitious registration of assets, money laundering, reinvestment of money, goods or utilities of illicit origin, self-laundering, embezzlement, abuse of office and forgery, disturbed freedom of auctions and issuing invoices for non-existent transactions.
At the same time, the Anti-Crime Division is executing a preventive seizure order issued by the Court of Salerno - preventive measures section, pursuant to the anti-mafia legislation, on a joint proposal by the Public Prosecutor and the Police Chief of Salerno, concerning assets of public relief associations and other corporate assets for a value of approximately 16 million euros.
