A serious episode of violence involving Penitentiary Police personnel occurred in Secondigliano prison.
An inmate resisted being transferred to another institution and attacked three officers. The news was reported by the Autonomous Union of Penitentiary Police (Know), which underlines the critical nature of the situation within the institute.
According to trade unionists Raffaele Munno and Donato Vaia, the prisoner, not wanting to be transferred, first protested verbally and then physically attacked the officers who were trying to calm him down.
The attack resulted in injuries to two inspectors and a superintendent, further increasing concerns for the safety of workers.
