Maradona, Ceci: “Diego died of sadness, his statue at the stadium”

Naples. “The last time he heard from Diego was about 15 days before his death. Diego was tired, he was a mined body by now. We knew well the physical problems he had, but he was psychologically tired, he felt alone. He died of sadness”. Stefano Ceci, manager of Diego Armando Maradona, who passed away last November 25, told Kiss Kiss radio. “Diego was disappointed by the lack of affection, he was a lonely person – says Ceci -. I met him in 2000 and he was already alone at the time. I saw heads of state standing at attention in front of Maradona. Diego had little to say nothing. In recent years he has tried to have his children around him, but he has not succeeded. It's sad to talk about Diego, let's remember Maradona who made everyone smile".

Then the manager announces: “On November 28th the inauguration of the statue inside the stadium. It's all confirmed, before Napoli-Lazio there will be a tribute that I pay to the Neapolitans because Maradona is theirs and it's a thank you that I promised to Diego”. “The statue will be presented in the stadium – he explains -, it will go around the athletics track and will find a place inside where the teams gather together with the referees and I can tell you that it is a living Maradona. For the statue I have already invited Diego Armando Maradona jr and the other 4 current heirs together with the Commissioner”. “Diego was Neapolitan – says Ceci -, on the writing of the statue in fact there will be a message 'I'm Neapolitan too'. The statue will also be placed outside the stadium on themed days."
