Last night, a 40-year-old man was arrested by the State Police for aggravated theft of a parked car.
The episode occurred in Fuorigrotta, in via Giacomo Leopardi, where the officers of the San Paolo Police Station, during a territorial control operation, noticed a suspicious individual crouching next to a parked car.
At the sight of the officers, the man, a Neapolitan with a police record also specific for similar crimes, attempted to flee. The police, however, immediately stopped and searched him, finding in his possession a car radio just removed from the vehicle and some tools used for the break-in.
From the first checks, it emerged that the 40-year-old had just stolen the car radio from the car near which he had been noticed in a suspicious attitude. For this reason, he was arrested on charges of aggravated theft. The stolen goods, in the meantime, have been returned to their rightful owner.
The episode confirms the commitment of law enforcement in combating predatory crimes, especially at night, when the risk of theft and vandalism of parked cars increases.

It seems to me that the police are doing a good job, but there are more and more thefts in the city. I hope that the authorities can improve security, especially in areas where there are many parked cars. The situation is worrying.
