The best-selling car categories
When analyzing the specific categories, the predominant trends clearly emerge. Sales of mild and full hybrid cars continue to grow, along with LPG registrations, while sales of electric and plug-in vehicles show signs of stagnation.
In the hybrid segment, the Fiat Panda stands out with 97.614 registrations, followed by the Toyota Yaris Cross and Toyota Yaris. As for petrol cars, the Citroën C3 maintains its lead with 33.842 units, highlighting a market recovery compared to previous years.
Electric and plug-in cars
In the electric car sector, sales are slightly down. The Tesla Model 3 takes first place with 7.943 registrations, followed by the Tesla Model Y. The Volkswagen EX30 is in third place. Surprisingly, the Dacia Spring, despite its affordable price, only achieved 3.542 registrations.
The plug-in hybrid market is struggling, with the Cupra Formentor in first place but with numbers down compared to the previous year.
Looking at the European panorama, the Dacia Sandero remains the best-selling model, with an increase compared to the past, while the electric car sector has seen a decline in sales. Future forecasts for the automotive industry in Europe remain uncertain, especially in light of the energy transition objectives set for 2035.
The future of the automobile, between challenges and opportunities, continues to require careful and proactive analysis.

The ranking of cars sold in 2024 seems interesting. However, I don't understand why electric cars are not selling as much as we thought. Maybe the price is still high? Even the Panda is still at the top but I would prefer a more modern car.
