Stabbing and Threats: Behind the Scenes of the Argument in Chiaiano
The argument, which broke out on February 4, 2024 in Chiaiano, ended with the stabbing of a man and the broken nose of his son. The episode was apparently born from a request for clarification regarding threats received the previous evening from the entrepreneur's wife, over a trivial traffic issue.
At the end of April, Bruno Abbinante and Giuseppe Caiazzo were arrested pursuant to a precautionary custody order issued by the preliminary investigations judge at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
According to the reconstruction, on the day of the attack the entrepreneur had accompanied his son near a bar in Marano, after being informed of the presence of a Ford Puma parked in the area with a license plate corresponding to the vehicle from which the threats had been made the previous evening.
The woman had reported that a young man, later identified as Giuseppe Caiazzo, had threatened her in front of the gate of her house, blocking the entrance with his car and responding to her protests with the phrase: "If you don't stop, I'll crush your wheels."
When the father and son approached to ask for explanations, the situation degenerated. Caiazzo allegedly punched the young man in the face, then chased him and threw a glass bottle at him.
The victim, helped by a friend, managed to escape, but at that point her father intervened. He allegedly attacked him Brown Matching, armed with a knife. “First he hit me in the arm and shoulder, I tried to take cover among the parked cars, but he reached me and wounded me in the head,” the entrepreneur told investigators.
Giuseppe Caiazzo, while admitting his presence on the scene, defended himself by denying any direct involvement in the wounding. The investigation continues to shed full light on the matter.
