Article Key Points
The release of the single “Haters Telematici” marks a new milestone in the musical repertoire of the band Krikka Reggae, originally from the Lucanian region. The innovative track is the result of the collaboration with the emerging producer Rsø and features a special participation of the rap artist Morfuco from Salerno.
The Long-Awaited Return of Krikka Reggae
After a break of about eighteen months since their last recording, remembered for the album “Finché la musica suona”, Krikka Reggae have once again appeared on the music scene introducing what is only the first of a series of new songs expected in the coming months.
On May 20, the public will also have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their universe thanks to the release of the video clip on YouTube, which combines visual creativity and text in a comic narrative centered on the protagonists Krikka and Morfuco.
A message against online hate
Under the wing of the Kido Music label, the song stands as a musical bastion against the so-called online haters, the “professional haters” who disseminate the web with their gratuitous criticisms. Combining dance hall rhythms and hip-hop language with the sounds of reggae and urban, typical of the previous twenty-year artistic expressions of Krikka Reggae, the song releases a powerful energy.
Manuel Tataranno, leader of the group, emphasizes the intent to shake consciences around the problem of haters, subjects who need to spend time criticizing and insulting others. Morfuco's participation was particularly appreciated because he was able to successfully emphasize the message and essence of the song.
Story of a Lucanian Musical Phenomenon
The origins of Krikka Reggae date back to the summer of 2001 on the coasts of Basilicata, where the fervent parties and dance halls ignited the creative spark of the group. Emblematic of this energy is the use of the local dialect and the reinterpretation of the Jamaican sound. The group quickly established itself with a repertoire of original songs, winning the Italian Reggae Contest in 2004 and publishing their first album in 2005, followed by other successful musical projects and stellar collaborations with famous artists.
In addition to celebrating 15 years of activity with concerts, including a memorable performance in Matera in 2016, Krikka Reggae have scored hits with the public, culminating in the recent 2022 celebratory album “Finché la musica suona”, which has received praise from critics and fans alike.
