On Saturday afternoon, the State Police arrested a 32-year-old Senegalese citizen, illegally residing on the national territory, for possession of narcotics and resisting a public official. The officers of the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station, during a control service in via Milano, noticed the man riding an electric bicycle while he was exchanging something for money with another individual.
At the sight of the officers, the man tried to hide everything in his pockets and ran away.
After a chase, he was stopped in Corso Novara, where he was found in possession of 23 packages of heroin, a dose of marijuana and 235 euros in cash.
Furthermore, the law enforcement agencies verified that the electric bicycle had been stolen last September in Avellino. For this reason, the 32-year-old was also reported for receiving stolen goods, and the vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.
