A new seismic swarm after a few days of calm began during the night in Campi Flegrei with two shocks in rapid succession.
The first of magnitude 2.1 was also felt by the population not only in the Phlegraean area, but also in the neighborhoods of Naples such as Pianura and Vomero as well as Agnano and Bagnoli.
According to the press release from the municipality of Pozzuoli: “The most energetic event, preliminary magnitude 2.1 +/-0.3 was recorded at 1.53 am on 1/03/2025, depth 2,7 km and epicenter Pozzuoli, south of the Cigliano crater”.
The second shock occurred about twenty seconds later and had a magnitude of 1.0.
The municipality of Pozzuoli also writes in the press release: “In light of the above, the Municipal Administration, together with the Civil Protection of the municipality of Pozzuoli, is closely following the evolution of the current seismic swarm and will provide subsequent updates until the end of the phenomenon”

These seismic shocks are to be taken very seriously. I also felt some tremors in my house and it is a bit scary. I hope there is no damage or worse situations in the future.
