An Unexpected Tribute
“No one could ever imagine that this exhibition, which we had built to cement our latest artistic journey, would become a tribute to a great artist, never fully understood and appreciated”, says Silvano Caiazzo, documentary photographer. With great emotion, Caiazzo prepares to attend the event without his friend and collaborator, Nello Manfrellotti, who passed away suddenly. The exhibition, created with great dedication by both, is made up of art, photography, recycled materials, colors and emotions.
The Art of Nello Manfrellotti
In Manfrellotti's work, a heart often emerges, drawn with simplicity but with an almost sacred depth, balancing elements of sacred and profane, joy and pain. Manfrellotti's works appear childish to a distracted eye, but in reality every detail is meticulously studied. His creations depict fantastic animals and Sacred Hearts, halfway between Ex Voto and Tattoo Art, using recovered packaging cardboard and acrylic colors.
Silvano Caiazzo: Photography and Emotions
Manfrellotti’s works integrate perfectly with those of Silvano Caiazzo, known for being the official photographer of the Pomigliano Jazz festival. Caiazzo captures the purest and most fleeting emotions through his lens, with a predilection for portraits and secret corners of architecture. His black and white photography communicates directly to the heart of the viewer, transforming reality into a dreamlike dimension.
A Complete Experience
The exhibition is not limited to works of art and photographs, but is enriched by the emotions of Napoli fans during the celebrations for the Scudetto and a symbol of the twentieth century, the Berlin Wall. “It was not easy to decide to inaugurate this exhibition as we had planned”, concludes Caiazzo, “but we are convinced that Nello wanted us to move forward and we could not betray his memory”. Through his works, Manfrellotti continues to push collective memory, transforming memories into common heritage.
