Raffaele Rispoli, 47 years old, brother of the much more famous Tina Rispoli, widow of the Camorra boss Gaetano Marino, known as Monkerino, killed on the beach of Terracina on 23 August 2012 and now wife of the neomelodic singer Tony Colombo (both in prison for over a year), dissociates himself.
Raffaele Rispoli, as the newspaper Il Roma reported this morning, sent a two-page letter to the judge of the abbreviated trial in which he is accused. "Today, after a long reflection, I recognize that I have had illicit behaviors that I am not proud of and that I would not repeat. I therefore want to dissociate myself from the delinquent environments and contexts that I have frequented in the past", he wrote.
However, it is important to point out that Rispoli, although declaring, for the moment, the end of his criminal path, has not undertaken a path of collaboration with justice nor has he accused his co-defendants.
In this regard, he stated: "I admit my responsibilities for non-associative crimes, with the exception of those related to drugs. Even if they were soft drugs, I never participated in them, because they were contrary to my way of thinking, being dangerous for the health of young people". Rispoli therefore rejects the accusation of being a drug trafficker, advanced by the anti-mafia prosecutor.
The 47-year-old also made some clarifications regarding his membership in the Di Lauro clan, in particular the group led by Vincenzo Di Lauro. “I do not deny that my Tle smuggling activity was part of an associative context, albeit rudimentary and limited to the smuggling and marketing of Tle, up to its illicit production. However, I have never participated directly or indirectly in drug trafficking, nor in extortion or in the laundering of illicit proceeds in entrepreneurial activities”.
He added: “I have never acted as an organizer or manager of the Di Lauro clan. My actions were limited to sharing assessments with other individuals.”
These statements could now complicate the position of Vincenzo Di Lauro, defended by the lawyer Antonio Abet, who recently declared in court that he had distanced himself from his brothers and was simply an entrepreneur. Rispoli's statements risk in fact conflicting with what Vincenzo Di Lauro has claimed.
But at the same time it may have paved the way for a similar decision for his sister too. Tina Rispoli and her husband Tony Colombo.
