The investigation into the European Institute for the Third Age based in Salerno has further expanded, bringing to light episodes of mistreatment within the facility for the elderly. Investigators from the Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit of Salerno have executed a precautionary measure order against the de facto manager of the institute, Sante Sica, who has been placed under house arrest.

The investigation revealed an elaborate plan orchestrated by Sante Sica to acquire the assets of a wealthy eighty-six-year-old housed in the facility.
Illicit strategies
Taking advantage of the elderly woman's vulnerability, Sica allegedly had two wills drawn up in his favor. Angela Pina Grossi, the support administrator, seems to have collaborated with Sica instead of protecting her client. She is accused of having promised to draw up a false report attesting to the woman's self-sufficiency, useful for obtaining the revocation of the support administration, in exchange for a share in the lady's assets.
