The Teatro Barone will host the show "Il viaggio del papà," written by Maurizio Casagrande and Francesco Velonà, on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th at 8:45 pm. Casagrande himself will take center stage, accompanied by singer-songwriter Ania Cecilia, who will perform three original songs.
The cast includes actors Giovanni Iovino, Michele Capone and popping performer Arianna Pucci.
The Story of “Dad’s Journey”
The show tells the complex relationship between a father and a son. Separated by profound differences in character, the two decide to embark on a journey together in search of a possible meeting point. During this extraordinary journey, an unexpected event forces them to reconsider their vision of the world. Castaways on a plastic island, they will be forced to work together to survive and confront a supernatural entity that will communicate with them through music.
An Invitation to Smile and Reflect
Maurizio Casagrande explains his intent: to make the audience reflect through lightness and smiles. “Important messages can be conveyed with humor,” he says, emphasizing that simple dialogue allows complex themes to be addressed with serenity. Ania Cecilia’s final song helps change the emotional atmosphere of the show, inviting the spectator to a deep reflection. Casagrande urges the audience to participate actively: “Whistle if you don’t like it.” The desire is to receive sincere applause, a sign of authentic involvement.

This show seems very interesting, but I have some doubts about how it can deal with such complex themes as the relationship between a father and a son. I hope that the humor is really effective in communicating deep messages.
