The Concert for Peace, scheduled for February 1, 2025 at the Cathedral of Naples, is shaping up to be an event of great cultural and social importance. Organized by the Campania Region, in collaboration with the Campania Festival Foundation, the Curia of Naples and Anteprima, the event aims to spread a message of brotherhood and hope in the context of the Jubilee celebrations, using music as a tool of unity.
International Artists and the Message of Peace
Artists from countries involved in conflicts, including Ukraine, Russia, Palestine, Israel and Iran, will perform on the prestigious Neapolitan stage. Among them, the performances of Noa and Miriam Toukan represent a symbol of dialogue and collaboration. The violinist Graf Mourja, born in Ukraine and living in Russia, and the pianist Nina Solodovnikova will collaborate with the tenor from Campania Giuseppe Talamo. The young Ukrainian pianists Diana and Danielle Dvalishvili will perform to symbolize the resilience of the new generations. The Sistanagila group will add a multicultural note, offering a unique synergy between Iranian and Israeli artists.
Italian Talents on Stage
Renowned Italian talents will enrich the event. Lina Sastri, Enzo Avitabile, Irene Grandi, Ermal Meta and Tosca, together with Maestro Carlo Guaitoli and the Sanitansamble and Scarlatti Young orchestras, will offer their interpretations. At the end of the evening, a video by Sting, known for his commitment to environmental and humanitarian issues, will be shown.
An Evening of Reflection and Unity
The concert will be conducted by Marisa Laurito and Neri Marcoré, with journalistic contributions by Carmen Lasorella and Claudia Conte, and historical interventions by Maurizio De Giovanni. Under the theatrical direction of Massimo Venturiello, the event will offer an opportunity for reflection, expressing a strong rejection of violence and war and promoting the construction of bridges between cultures. The initiative, curated by Francesco Cicchella with the Campania Festival Foundation, directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, intends to demonstrate how art and music can unite, overcoming every barrier. The performances at the Duomo will not only be a concert, but a call for a more peaceful future.
