The International Short Film Festival “accordi @ DISACCORDI” celebrated its twenty-first edition in Naples, recognizing the excellence of filmmakers and works for originality and quality. Held from 11 to 17 November 2024 at the Corte dell'Arte of FOQUS, the event presented 141 finalist short films with authors from all over the world.
Main Awards
Kristian Xipolias won the award for best director and best national short film with “Via delle Rose 36”, admired for its deep and poetic narrative. A Special Mention was awarded to “Mercato Libero” by Giuseppe Cacace for its sharp criticism of capitalism. In the Animation section, “Sapiens?” by Bruno Bozzetto was praised for its irony and reflection. Luca Ciriello won in the Campania category with “Api”, energetically describing adolescence. Best actor and actress were Giacomo Rizzo in “Era Ora!” by Valerio Manisi and Nunzia Schiano in “Shangai” by Andrea Bifulco, respectively. “Valery Alexanderplatz” by Silvia Maggi was awarded as best documentary for its sincere storytelling.
International and Audience Awards
In the International category, “Nothing Special” by Efrat Berger won first prize for technique and depth. “Cara Alice” by Gabriele Armenise won in the environmental section for its intense representation of a community in difficulty. The audience award went to “Luca, fuori sincrono” by Alessandro Marinaro, appreciated for his unique narrative style.
Other Awards
The awards for best editing, in collaboration with AMC – National Association of Film and Television Editing, were given to editors Raffaele Iardino and Mario Leombruno for “Kvara – a story of love and football”. A special mention was given to Alessandro Marinaro for “Luca, out of sync”. The festival, significant in the short film scene, benefits from the support of the Campania Region and the collaboration of entities such as the Canadian Italian Contemporary Film Festival and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.

the festival was a great opportunity to see interesting works, but i didn't really understand how the audience vote worked. some shorts were too long to be shorts, i would have expected something more concise. anyway well done to all the participants and winners, i hope next year will be even better.
