A war between rival gangs for control of drug dealing. This is the context, according to investigators, in which the June 21st ambush at the Aquamore swimming pools in Seriate, Bergamo, took place. An armed attack in which at least seven shots were fired, using a Kalashnikov and a submachine gun.

The target of the hitmen, however, managed to evade the fire and escape without being injured. The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri of Bergamo and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, reconstructed a sequence of events that apparently originated a few days before the shooting.

Twelve armed men searching for the rival

On June 15, in fact, a dozen armed men, believed to be linked to the group led by a 27-year-old Moroccan known by the nickname “Botros,” allegedly searched for a member of a rival gang in the woods of San Paolo d'Argon.

According to investigators, the expedition failed to reach its objective. Six days later, a new attempt was made, this time at the Aquamore swimming pools in Seriate, where the victim once again managed to escape the attackers.

The hidden arsenal between Milan and Novara

Investigations have identified several of the alleged perpetrators in the affair in recent days. Botros and an accomplice were captured in Vigevano, while two other people were detained as part of the investigation.
But it is above all the discovery of the arsenal that restores the dimension of the group's potential firepower.

In the woods between Vittuone, in the Milan area, and Oleggio Castello, in the Novara area, caches containing Kalashnikovs, assault rifles, ammunition, and drugs were located. During the operations, approximately €80 in cash was also seized.

The escape to the South and the arrest in Central Campania

On July 8, 2026, the investigation led the Carabinieri of the Bergamo Operational Section to Campania.
Investigators had located a car that had left Brescia and was headed towards southern Italy, on board which was ERM, believed by investigators to be the victim of the Seriate ambush.

A lengthy tailing ensued, with the officers waiting for the most opportune moment to intervene. The arrest occurred outside the Campania Shopping Center in Marcianise, in the Caserta area, taking advantage of the man's stop.

ERM was then taken to the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.

The victim's accusations: "More attempts to eliminate me."

When questioned by the Bergamo Public Prosecutor's Office, the man reportedly provided investigators with the identity of the alleged attacker, adding a series of details deemed useful to further the investigation.

During the interrogation, he also reported previous attempts to eliminate him in the province of Bergamo, which, according to his story, were attributable to Botros himself and his group.
Even under those circumstances, he reportedly told investigators, he had managed to escape his attackers.

The investigation now aims to clarify the relationships between the various criminal groups, the destination of the seized weapons, and the role of each of the suspects in the violent conflict for control of the drug dealing hubs.
