Reconstructing the motive is now the top priority for the Carabinieri of the Benevento Company and Provincial Command. The military has seized the cell phones and computers used by the three brothers.

The answer to the question "why" may lie hidden in WhatsApp chats, recent emails, audio recordings, or financial statements. Investigators are thoroughly analyzing the accounting records of the reception facility, a well-known and established business that, however, has recently been the scene of serious tensions, the echoes of which have left clear traces.

The network of witnesses: professionals and family members under pressure

In the last few hours, investigators have taken evidence not only from the victims' families – still in deep shock over what happened – and from the facility's employees, but also from the company's technical consultants: accountants, labor consultants and lawyers who assisted the Licciardis in commercial management.

At the heart of the investigation are disagreements over the management of the business and, above all, persistent rumors of a possible and imminent sale of the restaurant. This possibility had been circulating in the family for months and was also known to the close circle of friends and acquaintances.

We're trying to understand whether the decision to sell the premises was due to irreconcilable financial friction, undeclared debts, or an irreparable rift between those who wanted to cash in and those who intended to resist.

Autopsy and scientific findings

While the crime scene and the Beretta 9x21 remain under criminal seal, the Prosecutor's Office is preparing to award the autopsy order for the three brothers' bodies. The forensic data will be used to confirm the trajectory of the bullets and the time sequence of the shots, cross-referencing the results with ballistic samples and biological fingerprints collected by the Carabinieri's Scientific Investigations Section.

The combination of ballistics expertise and forensic analysis of the PC hard drives will clarify what transformed an ordinary dispute over commercial management into a massacre.
